D9002 "THE KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY"  was the first Deltic to receive blue livery and it is seen here awaiting entry back into service, after its overhaul and repaint, at Doncaster in October 1966. A Brush Type 2 (later class 31) lies behind having also received the new corporate colours. The date is likely to be Sunday 16th October and was more than likely taken during a weekend works visit. D9002 was released from Doncaster Works on the 18th October 1966.
