Few photos exist of Deltic locomotives running through washing plants and
it's ironic that a Gateshead loco, not known for their cleanliness, should
be seen being so treated.
Here 9011 "THE ROYAL NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS" gets a watering at
Holbeck's washing plant having arrived in Yorkshire via the 1L13 11:30
King’s Cross - Harrogate service during the summer of 1972.
