A Gresley 'O2' 2-8-0 locomotive simmers in the sidings at Babworth goods shed on 13th August 1962 as one year old D9010 speeds the 1A35 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross "The Flying Scotsman" towards Retford. The class O2 locomotives were introduced in 1921 and remained in service until 1963, the first withdrawals made in 1960 - D9010, later named "THE KING'S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERER", entered service on the 24th July 1961 and was withdrawn only twenty years later during December 1981.
