Proof - if proof was needed - that the two-tone green livery was by far the best livery applied to the Deltic locomotives. The livery was, however, unfortunately spoiled by the application of full yellow ends. Here D9010 "THE KINGS OWN SCOTTISH BORDERER" speeds its way south, near Newark, with the Saturday's 1A35 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross, "The Flying Scotsman" service on the 13th August 1966, the Winged Thistle headboard is also seen proudly in place.
