On the first day of operation of the new timetable D9010 "THE KING'S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERER" enters Doncaster with the 1A20 11:00 King's Cross - Newcastle service. The locomotive is seen sporting its unique livery of two-tone green with BR double arrows insignia. Full yellow ends were applied during December 1966, together with D9003 "MELD", these being the first of the class to be so treated. Blue livery was applied during a General repair given at Doncaster from December 1967 until February 1968.
