55010 (D9010) "THE KING'S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERER" passes Usan in failing light on the 9th July 1981. 55010 had relieved 55009 (D9009) "ALYCIDON" at Edinburgh Waverley earlier in the day with the 1S76 09:40 King's Cross - Edinburgh service, which on this day had been extended to Aberdeen. Here 55010 is returning at approximately 21:45 through Usan, near Montrose, with the 5Z21 ECS return working from Aberdeen to Craigentinny.
