Three Deltics No.s 55004 (D9004) "QUEEN'S OWN HIGHLANDER", 55011 (D9011) "ROYAL NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS" and 55018 (D9018) "BALLYMOSS", ironically one from each of the former depots that had serviced the machines, await component recovery at Stratford TMD on the 8th November 1981. All three were dispatched to Doncaster Works for scrapping on the 23rd November. Note the Mk I Ford Cortina.
