Having been specially prepared by Finsbury Park to haul the inaugural "The Hull Executive" on the 8th May 1978 55012 (D9012) "CREPELLO", still in excellent external condition, was the locomotive chosen to haul the "East Coast Pullman Salute" on the 20th of the same month, seen here awaiting departure form King's Cross. The train was the official BR farewell to Pullman services on the ECML and ran from King's Cross to Leeds, where 55012 took over "The Thames-Forth Express" to Edinburgh via the Settle and Carlisle route...
