Withdrawn on the 18th May 1981 55012 (D9012) "CREPELLO" is seen inside York TMD three days later. The locomotive was present for asset stripping in order to keep other members of the fleet running. 55012 remained at York until the 15th June when it was towed to Doncaster Works for scrapping, which was complete during September of the same year.
