On Saturday 3rd February 1968 D9012 "CREPELLO" approaches Newark with the 1A23 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross "The Flying Scotsman" service. Only nine days later the locomotive was admitted to Doncaster Works for General Repair and painting into blue livery.
