On the 2nd July 1981 55013 (D9013) "THE BLACK WATCH" brings the 1E10 09:10 Dundee - King's Cross service into the picturesque station of Dunbar. Dunbar had been a busy scene during 1979, between the months of March and August, due to the Penmanshiel Tunnel collapse and the closure of the ECML between Berwick and Dunbar itself. Most services ran via the WCML, diverted via Carlisle, or were terminated at Berwick from the south, however, Dunbar had a healthy timetable of shuttle services from Edinburgh, many of which were Deltic hauled.
