55013 (D9013) "THE BLACK WATCH" waits for its next turn in service at King's Cross Loco on Friday 30th June 1978, whilst locomotive 55015 (D9015) "TULYAR" lies behind.
I too was at King's Cross during the evening of Friday 30th June and can vividly remember the exploits of station staff running around as motive power availability dried up!! At one point at least three trains awaited locomotives with nothing available on King's Cross or at Finsbury Park.
