On the 11th August 1979 55014 (D9014) "THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON'S REGIMENT" passes Langford with the 1L43 14:05 King’s Cross - York service, which it powered as far as Doncaster. 55014 required repairs and retired to Doncaster TMD with 55011 (D9011) "ROYAL NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS" working forward to York.
