Having been stripped of all major components the hulk of 55015 (D9015) "TULYAR" awaits entry to the Crimpsall shops, on accommodation bogies, at Doncaster Works on Sunday 4th March 1979.
The loco was present for its final classified repair and was the last to retain the small sand box access doors and small triangular glass quarter lights. It was also the last to have the route indicator boxes plated over, however, Doncaster had already ceased to do this to the class in a cost cutting exercise and its home depot, Finsbury Park, would see to this on its release from overhaul.
