Having been cleaned for the Doncaster Works Deltic open day held on 27th February 1982 55015 (D9015) "TULYAR" looks out of place within the scraplines at Doncaster Works on 7th March 1982. BR attempted to sell 55015 via auction at Christies in London in December 1982, however, the locomotive failed to raise the reserve price and it wasn't until January 1984 that it found its way into preservation via Mr. Peter Sansom. 55015 was later sold to the Deltic Preservation Society in August 1987.
