As yet un-named D9016 sweeps round the curve at Copley Hill, on the
approach to Leeds Central, with the 1S57 12:00 King's Cross - Glasgow Queen Street, "The Queen of Scots
Pullman" service on the 25th May 1963.
The loco would normally run to diagram and re-engine the up service from
Glasgow at Leeds, meanwhile the loco from the preceding King's Cross to
Leeds service (the 1N10 10:20 King's Cross - Bradford) would drop onto 1S57
and take it north.
On this occasion D9021, another of Haymarket's allocation, was on hand at
Leeds to relieve Deltic 16 of its charge.
D9016 would be named at Aberdeen on the 28th July 1964, by which time
"The Queen of Scots Pullman" had been confined to history.
