What may have been a loco requirement in the capital, or indeed nothing more than a faulty speedometer, 55017 (D9017) "THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY" was piloted from Leeds to King's Cross, on the 10th May 1974, whilst in charge of the 1A16 09:52 Harrogate - King's Cross "The Yorkshire Pullman" service...

King's Cross "The Yorkshire Pullman" service
55017 (D9017) "THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY" and 45011 make their way to
either Finsbury Park or King's Cross loco for servicing on the 10th May
1974.
Whatever the reason for the class 45 to be attached 55017 was okay to head
north later in the day to Newcastle....
