9017 "THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY" restarts at King's Cross Loco on the 3rd January 1974 in readiness to work the prestigious 1S17 10:00 King's Cross - Edinburgh "The Flying Scotsman" service. With ASLEF carrying out industrial action on this day and throughout January 1974 many services were cancelled and little would be moving out of King's Cross.
