Finsbury Park's D9018 "BALLYMOSS" has charge of the prestigious non-stop 1A12 09:30 King's Cross - Edinburgh "The Elizabethan" service at Retford on the 24th August 1962.
The service which required corridor connections between loco and stock in steam days, and spawned the use of streamlined corridor tenders, lasted only one summer timetable from the 18th June 1962 with relief crews not happy travelling in the rear cabs of the Deltics.
