Resplendent after its final Intermediate overhaul 55006 (D9006) "THE FIFE & FORFAR YEOMANRY" makes the Newcastle stop with the 1S12 07:45 King’s Cross - Edinburgh, "The Silver Jubilee" service on the 29th June 1977. The locomotive had arrived at Doncaster Works for overhaul on the 21st March and was released on the 28th June 1977.

The service lost its title with the onset of 1978 and became a regular HST diagram prior to a more intensive HST service in May of that year.
