Due to a derailment at Belford the 1A35 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross "The Flying Scotsman" found itself diverted via the Waverley Route and Carlisle on Saturday 25th April 1964. Here D9019, as yet un-named, proudly adorned with the 'Winged Thistle' emblem of the Flying Scotsman traverses West Coast metals as it passes Carlisle en-route south with the heavily diverted and late running service.
