On  the 8th June 1972, following Release from Doncaster Works, 9019 "ROYAL HIGHLAND FUSILIER" was attached to the front of 9002 "THE KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY" and its train, the 1A29 16:28 Doncaster - King's Cross to provide a test run for the locomotive and as a positioning move to get it back to King's Cross - here the ensemble leaves Newark Northgate. Interestingly 9010 "THE KING'S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERER" was 0B01 Doncaster - King's Cross,  following tyre turning at Doncaster TMD, and followed 1A29 south - it could have been a triple-header!
