Deep into its Heavy General Repair (HGR), one of only five locomotives to receive such a repair, 55019 (D9019) "ROYAL HIGHLAND FUSILIER" is seen within the erecting shops at Doncaster on Sunday 8th August 1976. 55019 arrived at Doncaster on the 27th January and was finally released back into traffic on the 22nd September. 55002, 55016, 55013 and 55021 also received HGR's, however, the cost of these repairs and the projected lifespan of the class saw the removal of the program.
