Languishing on 'The Plant' (Doncaster Works) on the 6th May 1979 is 55001 (D9001) "ST. PADDY". Present for power unit repairs the locomotive had arrived on the works on 24th March 1978. The repairs would never be authorized and the locomotive was cut-up during February 1980.
