55021 (D9021) "ARGYLL & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDER" is seen
at York TMD on the morning of Sunday 29th November 1981 having undergone a 'B'
examination. The locomotive would work south later with the 1A10 15:50 York -
King's Cross service, though a fire at King's Cross saw the loco despatched to
Finsbury Park TMD for repairs to the fire damage.
55021 continued in service until the final day of Deltic operation on the ECML,
the 31st December 1981, and was the final Deltic to complete a King's Cross to
York service in BR service.
