55022 (D9000) "ROYAL SCOTS GREY" powers the 1G20 18:23 Aberdeen - Edinburgh service through Ferryden on the 2nd September 1981.
The following day 55022 was involved in a slight collision with locomotive 55021 (D9021) "ARGYLL & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDER" at Finsbury Park and was sent to Stratford TMD for repairs. Whilst at Stratford 55022 was prepared for the forthcoming catalogue of Deltic railtours and was re-united with its former number D9000.
