D9000 "ROYAL SCOTS GREY" gets the road to leave King's Cross Loco and shuffle its way to the head of its next service on the 6th June 1966.

On the 6th June 1966 D9000 "ROYAL SCOTS GREY" backs down onto the
1A06 08:00 King's Cross - Edinburgh, "The Talisman"
service at King's Cross.
The loco had just passed through works for a double power unit transplant
and had only emerged from Doncaster on the previous day.
Its rear train reporting number suggests its last working was the 1A03
07:55 Newcastle - King's Cross,
"The North Eastern" service, which probably occurred
prior to entering works on the 31st May.
