On the 16th April 1979 55002 (D9002) "THE KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT
INFANTRY" gets the 1L18 18:09 King’s Cross - York service away from the
capital.
Unfortunately the loco only made it as far as Holloway where it suffered
engine failure, 55003 (D9003) "MELD" was dispatched from Finsbury
Park to relieve 55002 which made its way to the Park for repairs.
