55002 (D9002) "THE KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY" passes New Barnet on the morning of 2ns September 1978 with the heavily delayed 1E48 21:15 Aberdeen - King's Cross sleeper service which had originated in Aberdeen the previous night. Due to a derailment at Montrose the 1E48 had been diverted via Inverness and was noted passing Chaloners Whin (south of York) the following morning at 09:16 some 299 minutes behind schedule. 55002 had re-engined the late running train at York.
