With its time in blue livery drawing to an end 55002 (D9002) "THE KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY" passes York on the 25th November 1980 with the 1D21 13:10 Tyne Yard - Doncaster test train. The loco had been called to works for its final Intermediate repair on the 14th October and following the fitting of overhauled major components was out on test prior to a visit to the Doncaster Works paint shop. 55002 would appear in two-tone green on the 11th December - ironic that 55002, as D9002, was the first Deltic to receive blue livery in October 1966.
