Recently out-shopped from Doncaster Works following its final light repair 55002 (D9002) "THE KING'S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY" backs down onto a York bound service at London King's Cross on the 8th September 1978. 55002 would return to Doncaster Works for its final Intermediate repair in October 1980 and would then re-appear in original two-tone green livery prior to preservation in the National Railway Museum at York.
