A rare view of D9003 still without nameplates passes Great Ponton on the 17th June 1961 with the 1A35 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross, "The Flying Scotsman" service. D9003 would receive its "MELD" nameplates without ceremony at Doncaster Works during the following month.
