Numerical order: On the 10th March 1981 55004 (D9004) "QUEENS OWN HIGHLANDER" peeps from behind two withdrawn members of the class. 55006 (D9006) "THE FIFE & FORFAR YEOMANRY" and 55005 (D9005) "THE PRINCE OF WALES'S OWN REGIMENT OF YORKSHIRE" await their fates.
55004 arrived for attention on the 9th March and had the following work carried out: No.2 power unit 417 (dephased) replaced by 430 & No.4 wheelset on No.2 bogie 9000-26 exchanged. It was released back into traffic on the 19th March.
