Following special treatment in order to haul the 150th anniversary of
mail by rail charter, the previous day, 55005 (D9005) "THE PRINCE OF
WALES'S OWN REGIMENT OF YORKSHIRE" sits in front of the fuelling bays at
York TMD on the morning of 12th November 1980...
...55005 at York TMD on the morning of 12th November 1980, the loco would
have two trips over the Pennines to Liverpool that day having worked there
on the anniversary special the previous day.
Unfortunately the winter weather would soon spoil the clean look of the loco
and only traces of its special treatment would last until its withdrawal in
early 1981.
