Withdrawn on the 8th February 1981 55005 (D9005) "THE PRINCE OF WALES' OWN REGIMENT OF YORKSHIRE"  is seen within its last home depot, York TMD, on the 14th of the month.
The locomotive was awaiting a tow to Stratford in order to donate its bogies to 55021.
