55006 (D9006) "THE FIFE & FORFAR YEOMANRY" entered Doncaster Works on the 21st March 1977 for its final intermediate overhaul. On Sunday 26th June 1977 the locomotive is seen with all work complete awaiting a test run at Hexthorpe Bridge, with Doncaster Works in the back ground. 55006 was given a test run to Tyne Yard and back the following day and was released to traffic on the 28th June. Note this was the first appearance of No.6 with its headcode panels plated over.
