golden winged thistle of the 10:00 King's Cross to Edinburgh, and alternate
10:00 Edinburgh to King's Cross "The Flying Scotsman" services. Here
D9006 proudly sports the accolade as it runs through York on the 6th March
1967 with the up 10:00 Edinburgh - King's Cross train. The headboard was
introduced on the 9th March 1964 and D9006 was the first to be adorned with
the up service on that day...
