Following the introduction of HST services on the ECML, from May 1978, through services from King's Cross to Edinburgh were at a premium for the Deltic locomotives, few still existing until the start of the May 1979 timetable. One such working was the 1S34 18:00 King’s Cross - Edinburgh on which 55007 (D9007) "PINZA" is seen on the 20th February 1979 at Doncaster.
