Approaching Kinnaber box and junction on the 21st August 1981 is 55008 (D9008) "THE GREEN HOWARDS" with the 1S12 05:50 King's Cross - Aberdeen service, which the locomotive worked throughout. The west coast line is to the left hidden by the embankment and was still open at the time for the Brechin freight line (handling both fertilizer and coal)...
