55008 (D9008) "THE GREEN HOWARDS" is seen on release from works at Doncaster on the 3rd August 1978.
The loco had arrived at Doncaster for its final Intermediate overhaul on the 15th March and during its stay the class had been usurped from the top link expresses by new HST sets.
