During a period of industrial action led by the rail union ASLEF 9009 "ALYCIDON" waits on a day free from disruption, with the 1L13 11:25 King’s Cross - Harrogate service, on 19th January 1974.
The locomotive would receive its new identity of 55009 only a few days later.
