55009 (D9009) "ALYCIDON" passes Selby Street, on the outskirts of Hull, as it power south with the 1A18 12:34 Hull - King's Cross service on the 24th May 1980.
The loco would suffer a fire at Welwyn Garden City and had to be aided into King's Cross by 31405. 55009 was dispatched to home depot Finsbury Park for repairs, however, it was deemed beyond the depot's capabilities and sent to Doncaster for repairs on the 30th May. It was back in traffic on the 12th June following various repairs including a power unit exchange.
