55009 (D9009) "ALYCIDON" arrives
at York amidst glorious sunshine on Saturday 30th July 1977 with
the 1N08 09:00 King's Cross - Newcastle service.
At this time 55009 still retained headcode blinds and sandbox
filler flaps to the nose ends and bodysides, the small flaps
would have been removed during the loco's Intermediate overhaul
which commenced at Doncaster Works in December 1978, the blinds
were plated over at Finsbury Park on the 3rd November 1978 prior
to its overhaul.
