55007 heads a line up of 14 Deltics during the early half of 1982. Behind 55007 are 55004, 55022, 55016, 55005, 55017, 55013, 55011 and 55008 - the following five machines would be 55009, 55010, 55015, 55019 and 55021, in which order it is unknown though 55015 stands out as the only Deltic with white cab surrounds. Only three of the fourteen are racehorses of which two survived.

55016 (D9016) "GORDON HIGHLANDER" was still present at Doncaster Works on the 22nd July 1984, though now in slightly happier circumstances. No.16 had been secured by the Deltic 9000 Fund as a source of spares for D9000 but was to become a fully working locomotive again only a few years later.

D9000 "ROYAL SCOTS GREY" had departed Doncaster Works in 1983 for the Nene Valley Railway and a life in preservation. Twelve months later the locomotive makes a welcome return to 'The Plant', for the works open day on the 22nd July 1984, now fully restored to working order.
