D9015 "TULYAR" joined the party slightly later than other Deltics in 1962, whilst others were prepared for the beginning of the first dedicated Deltic timetable on the 18th June D9015 was out of traffic at Darlington Works for modifications. Released to traffic on the 5th July, after a brief spell in Doncaster Works also for a classified repair, D9015 was finally taken out of service by its home depot for special treatment on the 31st July and is seen here after being dispatched to King's Cross, on the 2nd August, in order to work the 1A42 15:00 King's Cross - Newcastle service.

Application of small yellow warning panels. Speculation still surrounds the dates when each loco had the small yellow warning panels painted and in most cases only photographic evidence provides the nearest date that can be assumed.
