55015 (D9015) "TULYAR" at Doncaster on the 6th July 1978 with the 1L04 10:04 King's Cross - York service. The locomotives forlorn condition was the result of an experiment to run the engine for longer periods between classified repairs at Doncaster Works. Finsbury Park took pity on the locomotive and repainted it later in the same month...

...55015 points north at Doncaster on Wednesday 6th July 1978. Note the plate adjacent to the central grille that was once used to supply water to the boiler, and the sand-filler flap between nameplate and number, these were removed when the locomotive was next shopped at Doncaster Works.
