Flashover damage to all traction motors & 'Vee' rings to re-tape - No.2 power unit XXX stated as fitted with lower radiator fan gearbox. Bogies No.1 1005 replaced by 1007 & No.2 1006 replaced by 1008 (both replacement bogies had been modified with stiffening plates). Boiler 1494/J2950 was overhauled. The body was given a six monthly exam. All traction motor equipment accessories (including control cubicles and cable runs) were overhauled. The following modifications were carried out:- Exhaust pipe bellows fitted; Drawgear mod; Driver's brake valve mod. Mileage recorded as 184,000 since new.

The body was given an annual repair. The following modifications were carried out:- Radiator fan grills; Lubricating oil and water sampling cocks; Bracket to compressor outlet pipe; Additional exhaust pipe filter; Exhaust tank drain pipes fitted to both power units. Mileage was recorded as 213,990 since new.
