Deltic detritus at the rear of Doncaster Works on 10th March 1981. The cutting of 55003 (D9003) "MELD" continues as Power unit 429 (ex 55013) lies at the rear of Doncaster Works awaiting scrapping, the power unit had already had its exhaust collector drum removed for further use after being condemned with a suspect fractured liner in February. Meanwhile power unit 435 (ex 55017), now time expired, is seen covered by a tarpaulin and available as a source of spares.
