Doncaster Works took over all Napier-Deltic power unit repairs in April 1969 - above is a report from the April 1969 edition of Rail News. Note three Deltic locomotives are present for overhaul or repairs within the Crimpsall erecting shops - it is believed D9003 "MELD" hangs from the crane as it is lifted from its bogies.
