as it was required for further ETH workings. Some attention was given by my staff to the boiler on
the locomotive but insufficient time was available for further examination.

Conclusions: 22.11.73 DME KX states: I note the defect found at York Depot but would point out
that there was a further report of the boiler water pump being defective two days later. Further
investigation then revealed that the connection tag to one of the water pump motor brush arms
was loose. In so far as staff in this Division are concerned I consider that either defect should have
been noticed and given attention at the 'C' examination on 5th November and suitable notice is
therefore being taken with the electrician concerned.
